A matter of timing

After we left Central Park, we walked by The Museum of Natural History looking for a street entrance to the subway. Unable to find one, I stopped a woman and asked her for directions. She told us that there was a subway in the museum and asked if we'd gone.

We got to talking and admitted that we couldn't afford the $16 admission since we're doing New York on the cheap. Turned out, she worked there. And she liked the look of us I guess. So Liz led us into the museum and said she'd show us the frogs on the way to the subway.

They were awesome. Bright or huge or waxy and stuck to the tank wall. We all exclaimed over them. Then she asked if we wanted to see the butterflies. We accepted but that exhibit was closed. Adventure over, right?

Wrong.

She asked if we wanted to see the planetarium show which is another $16 normally. For free. We gladly accepted and loved the show. Malinda, sitting next to me on the subway as I write this, says it was amazing.

When it was over, we went to find her and let her know what we thought but accidentally walked out into the lobby and couldn't get back in without a ticket. Game over, right?

Wrong.

I talked our way past the security guard mostly by confusing him and we went to find her by the dinosaurs. We couldn't locate her but we did locate some awesome dinosaur bones. Laughing and happy, we ran to meet the subway and are on the way to pack up and say goodbye to the Pink Hostel.
